The beach restaurant bar with an amazing roof top terrace is located on the Ancão Beach, in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is one of the most amazing places in the Algarve, elected as one of the 7 natural wonders in Portugal, not only for its variety of landscapes but also because of its unique location, a maze of canals, islands, marshes dunes, salt pans, freshwater lagoons and barrier islands, stretching along the Algarve coast, between the beaches of Manta Rota and Garrão.

A long, raised boardwalk runs from the parking lot to the modern, contemporary glass structure sitting on stilts in the sand just meters away from the crashing waves. The Bold Octopus restaurant
Given its location, the menu leans towards fish and seafood.
Start with a cheer, just to take it all in. For a delightful happy celebration try a signature cocktail at the Bold Octopus, a Watermelon Sugar High, Under the Sea or a classic Espresso Martini.
We love starting lunch or dinner with sharing plates for everyone, the selection is largely international with Couvert nibbles of crispy ciabatta, with olive oil, thyme butter and tapenade.
Try the Chicken Gyozas in Teriyaki Sauce (€12) to start, Calamari with Lime and Garlic Aioli (€14.50), cleanse the pallete with Tuna Tostadas, Avocado, Tomato Salsa, Jalapeños, Chives. something small and scrumptious with the Ria Formosa Black Clams, Garlic, White Wine, Coriander (€19.00) or try the Prawns Al Ajillo with house spicy garlic and lemon butter, served with warm focaccia bread (€19.00).
Followed by Tuna Poke Bowl (€16) and Tempura Fish Tacos (€16) as mains. Meat lovers are not forgotten with items such as New Zealand Lamb Chops (€29), Argentinian Filet Steak (€30) and Chargrilled Côte de Boeuf (€65).
Don’t forget dessert; with the Chocolate Sundae for Two (€14.00) was truly scrumptious.
The vibrant and colourful coastal plates feed the eyes, soul and your appetite. Relax, enjoy the company of friends and family, and take a moment to take in the breath-taking views.
The team are great, friendly helpful, and chatting with our hosts nothing is too big or too small.
After lunch take in the rooftop lounge upstairs, with its views of the ocean and Quinta do Lago then sit, relax, and enjoy on the comfortable sofas underneath the large shade umbrellas.
From Villa Cascata at Cascata Village the drive takes approx. 36 minutes.
To get to The Bold Octopus take the roads south from Almancil toward Praia do Ancão. Closer to the beach, follow the dirt road around to the first public parking area.
Once parked, check the posted signs to see if (payment is necessary.) You will see the boardwalk to The Bold Octopus restaurant.
